Last updated: 2026. TrashDuty ("we", "the app") helps families coordinate trash day and household chores.
Only what the app needs to work: your household name, the first names members enter, your trash-pickup schedule and timezone, who marked a chore done and when, and — if you turn on reminders — the push notification "subscription" your browser or device provides. We do not collect passwords, and we do not store payment card details (payments, if any, are handled by Stripe).
To send the reminders you ask for and to sync activity in real time among the members of your household. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
Push notifications are delivered through the operating-system push services (Apple, Google/Firebase, Mozilla) and our hosting/database provider (Railway). Payments, if enabled, are processed by Stripe under their own privacy terms. We share data with no one else.
Your data stays only as long as your household exists. Any member can permanently delete the household and all of its data from Settings → Delete household. You may also email us to request deletion.
TrashDuty is a family tool intended to be set up and managed by an adult. Members are identified only by a chosen first name; we ask that a parent or guardian manage any accounts used by children.
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to a household is controlled by a private invite code that can be regenerated at any time from Settings.
